Boyd,

Thanks to you and Eric--and Darlene, and those others on the
AML-Board who have responded--both for reconsidering the new rules,
and for showing that you value the input of those who have posted
comments.

I apologize if any of my comments have been overly harsh, or
discouraging for those who are currently doing the work of AML. I
appreciate that volunteer labor can be a thankless job, and all the
worse when one is coming under fire for well-meant efforts.

I also appreciate the fact that those who are currently serving have
stepped forward at a time when the organization, due to a combination
of factors, was experiencing a leadership vacuum. Those of us whose
only involvement is this list may not have been aware of just how
close AML came to extinction. I hope that things will continue to
improve for the organization.

The last thing I would ask is a plea for clearer communication all
around. I think that a lot of the alarm and hurt feelings on all
sides could have been avoided if there had been (a) greater clarity
about exactly what the changes were, and (b) less of a sense of
changes coming down from above with little chance for changing
things. Personally, I've been gratified that you all have been so
open to considering the points that we've raised. Thanks.
