Same class. Scott is my little brother-in-law and we took the class together. His star, of course, shone much brighter than mine, so I was very quiet. However, I did observe with great interest the seeds of burgeoning LDS literature starting to take root and I started a collection of the very early stuff. I've been a good audience ever since. It was such an energetic time for young authors and actors like you, the pathfinders so to speak, just starting to see the possibilities in LDS literature that the excitement was palpable. I don't know if the youngsters know how much they really owe you pathfinders. Thanks for the love. Returned. Laura Card

Laura,
Very kind words, thank you. I think I may have been only visiting
that class of yours, at Brother Larsen's invitation. Back when I was
actually attending his class I had no ambition beyond passing it.
There was, though, a student named Card in my poetry class--Orson Scott.
But hey, how can I not love Laura D. Card? (I have a dangerously low
love threshhold.)
Once again,
Marvin Payne
(sort of rhymes, if you want it to)
