I don't know Marvin Payne well enough to say I love him, but I'm awfully impressed by him. The only memories I have of Marvin Payne was when he was a classmate of mine in a poetry class at BYU taught by Clinton Larsen and I'm old enough that it may not be right. I seem to remember him saying in class that he aspired to do just what he has been doing and I remember I thought he was amazingly and awe-inspiringly ambitious because I just wanted to write books. I moved away from Utah for many, many years and when I came back I was able to catch a couple of performances with, guess who, Marvin Payne, as the lead. I was so excited and impressed that he was still following his dreams. Laura Card
