Subject: [Marketing] Your thoughts on two potential products
I am sending this e-mail to both the collections and marketing mailing list,
so those of you on both lists will get two e-mails.

I have been approached by two vendors (well, by many vendors, but these two
have caught my attention) regarding two specific products. These vendors
would like the League to become a partner of sorts in offering products to
credit unions. Before I get too far in investigating them, I am interested
to know what you think regarding the products, and if they are of interest
to you.

First, DocuMatix is an e-mail marketing company that provides e-mail
services. Their product allows you to create e-mail promotions and send them
to members. Is this something your credit union is interested in? They have
specifically talked about making this affordable for small credit unions.

Second, Debt Free Consumer is a non profit company that helps people manage
their debt. Their goal is to reduce bankruptcies. The way they have proposed
working with credit unions is this: credit unions make the debt management
program available to members, costing the credit union nothing. Hopefully
members who are considering bankruptcy or who are having financial problems
will look into the program and reduce their debt load, thereby avoiding
bankruptcy and not causing a loss to the credit union. By partnering with
Debt Free, the credit union gains the benefit that although other creditors
of a Debt Free client will be solicited for Fair Share donations, the credit
union will not. That means no Fair Share will be paid by a participating
credit union, and the credit union will not incur any losses. There are no
fees of any kind to the credit union; all principal owed to the credit union
will be repaid by a member on Debt Free's program, and the credit union will
continue to earn the same rate of interest on the original debt. The member
will gain improved financial ground as Debt Free Negotiates with other
debtors. Does this sound like something your credit union would be
interested in looking into?
I would appreciate your feedback on both items. Thanks!
