Hi Roadies,
I need to get a good feel right away for how many of you are interested in
the Mirror Lake Highway ride (Aug 23-24), so I can
1. make campground reservations.
2. make shuttle plans. The route up Chalk Creek includes 10 miles of
dirt road. Although the road is bikeable, I'm sure most roadies would
prefer to be shuttled over that part.
I'll need to *limit *the numbers of riders to about 15-20.
Non-riding spouses, significant others, friends, family members or whoever
are most welcome in addition to the 15-20 riders. In fact, if you are a
non-rider *please *come. I will need some help taking gear to the
campground, running the shuttle, etc.
Please let me know *asap *if you are thinking about coming, and whether you
are a rider or non-rider. I will require a small deposit 2 weeks before
the trip to confirm your spot, but I'll wait a few days before sending out
the details about that.
I hope you decide to join us! It should be a great trip.
Robert
PS. Here is a little more info about the trip. I'll be glad to answer any
questions you have, too.
*Weekend Epic Ride #3: Mirror Lake Loop*
*Date:* 08/23/2008 ~ 08/24/2008
****This will be a *supported* overnight loop trip. The ride is about 120
miles, spread over two days. We'll start in Coalville (or perhaps Wanship),
ride up Chalk Creek to the Mirror Lake Highway and on to a campground where
we'll spend the night. On Sunday, we'll ride over Hayden and Bald Mountain
Passes, then enjoy about 50 miles of downhill back to the start. If all goes
well, our food and gear will be waiting for us when we get to the campground
on Saturday, and again when we get back to the start.
