Hi Road Bikers,
The Vernal road biking weekend is coming up soon (June 28-29), so it is
time to decide whether you want to come. Please let me know by this
Wednesday (June 18) so I can make campground reservations. I'm planning
to tent camp at the KOA in Vernal. We will need reservations for Friday
and Saturday nights (June 27 and 28). The KOA people told me today that
I need to make reservations in the next 2-3 days because they are
starting to fill up. If I wait until the weekend, it could be too late.
It should be a fun weekend. We'll ride up on Diamond Mountain on
Saturday and to Dinosaur National Monument on Sunday. There are lots of
other things to do in the area, too.
Re food, we could all bring our own, or we could do some coordinating.
I could easily be talked into doing a dutch oven dinner Saturday night.
If you want to come on the trip but don't want to camp, the KOA has
rustic cabins, plus there are always motels. You can make those
reservations on your own, but please let me know that you are coming, so
I will know that I need to give you more info and look for you in Vernal.
I will make tent site reservations for those who let me know by
Wednesday that they want them. We can have up to 6 adults and 3 small
tents per site. (We will need to bring small tents, because we can only
1 large tent per site.) The cost per night per site is about $25 for 2
adults and about $36 for 6, or about $6-12 each per night.
