The Up N Over changes a little to accommodate changing plans and changing road conditions. The Start remains the same – but the revised write-up on the club website now reflects the route this event will take, as the Turn Left 100.
Leaving the Zoo we still climb Little Mountain – but on the other side we get to Little Dell Reservoir and turn left. This turns us away from the re-milling of I-80 – creating a surface similar to the cobbles of Paris Roubaix.
Big Mountain comes next – up n over to East Canyon – then just before Hogsback – we miss the climb and turn left – and follow the road straight thru Morgan – after going under I-84 – its left again and the route goes to the Sinclair at Mountain Green for the turnaround point. Climbs aplenty on the return with the gradual one up to East Canyon dam, Big Mountain and Little Mountain again to the finish. A RIDE LEADER IS NEEDED TO HANDLE SIGN-UPS SINCE WE MAY NOT BE BACK IN TOWN FOR THIS ONE. That’s a Saturday morning ride with Ride Leader and Superseries credit all rolled into one.
PIONEER WEEKEND
The Saturday Pioneer weekend event has started in Morgan for the past few years. That’s easily a 60-80 mile roundtrip for those of us living on the Wasatch front. Pioneer day on the preceding Thursday goes up Chalk Creek from Park City. So with the rare occurrence of moving a starting point – I ask for comments on a revised event listing.
Our options are : 1. Repeat the Turn left 100 – lots of climbing, but our Ogden area riders could also reverse the route starting in Mtn Green. The SLC locals would go from Sugarhouse Park or the Zoo.
2. Repeat the McMemorial Day McCool McRainOut – a flat course to the causeway and back. Six people did it before but I hope for 50 this time around
3. Saratoga - Santaquin – a little Redwood Road – Goshen Canyon – Orchards –Santaquin and back up Redwood for the finish.
